In Their Words
Sonia:
“Qi is an amazing teacher, for both practitioners and other yoga teachers. She is kind, knowledgeable, and honest, helping students build up their individual practices in a way that works for them.”
Christina Conyers:
"I had the pleasure of learning from Qi during YTT at UW Rec, and I truly appreciated her dedication and warmth. Her educational posture labs and morning yoga sessions were informative and helped deepen my understanding of alignment and anatomy. She also shared her inspiring journey of studying in Nepal, which reflected her discipline and passion for Yoga. Qi was always cheerful and approachable, and it was clear she genuinely cared about our growth and development throughout the training. I'm grateful to have had her as an instructor."
Geraldine Neljon Emlaw:
“Despite being very knowledgeable in the traditional postures, Qi always encouraged modifications; I remember lots of "this is the traditional *insert asana* but..." in the posture labs, which I really appreciated. Qi is always very thoughtful in her explanations, responses to questions and feedback and it really shows that she cares about the practice of yoga!
Whenever I attend one of Qi's weekly classes at the IMA, I always admire how she paces the practice and structures the sequence/flow. I often take inspiration from her classes when I practice on my own or with friends.”
Naresh Senathi:
“Qi was my lead instructor during my Yoga Teacher Training program, and I am truly grateful for her guidance. She has a deep knowledge of yoga postures and practices, and an impressive ability to break them down with clarity and patience. Her understanding of different styles of yoga, combined with the personal stories she shares from her own journey, makes her teaching both relatable and inspiring.
As a teacher, Qi creates a supportive and encouraging learning environment. She took the time to provide thoughtful adaptations and suggestions, which helped me progress significantly in poses that I initially struggled with. By the end of the program, I was able to access those postures with much greater ease and confidence.
Beyond the physical practice, Qi’s teaching instilled in me the confidence to step into the role of a teacher myself. On day one, I had little confidence in standing in front of a class, but by the end of the training, I was able to lead a full one-hour yoga session for my peers. This transformation speaks to the encouragement and belief Qi instills not only in me but in every student she teaches.
Qi is a knowledgeable, patient, and inspiring yoga teacher. Her passion for yoga and her dedication to her students make her an exceptional instructor, and I feel fortunate to have trained under her guidance.”
Dan Su:
“I have been working with Qi for almost a year for private yoga sessions, and I cannot recommend Qi highly enough!
Qi takes time to understand my goals and choose the appropriate poses and levels of difficulty for my specific needs. For example, for the days I don’t feel strong enough, or when I already have minor injuries from other exercises, I just let her know my limitations or where the injuries are the same before, she would design a class/flows for me using poses that does not irritate the affected muscles, and even better, poses that actually improve and strengthen my weaker body parts. I find her sessions very therapeutic!
The sessions have been incredibly transformative as well. Qi has an exceptional ability to guide me through poses while ensuring that my form is correct, which has significantly improved my practice.
Whether you're a beginner or looking to deepen your yoga practice, I highly recommend Qi as a private yoga coach. My journey has become so much more enriching with her guidance, and I look forward to continuing my practice under her instruction.”
